About Dr. Hilary Butella

Dr. Hilary Butella specializes in individualized psychiatric medication management that integrates physical well-being, lifestyle choices, emotional health, and spirituality. Operating within a compassionate and empathetic framework, Dr. Butella evaluates genetics, personality, relationships, and lifestyle factors to design comprehensive treatment plans tailored to each patient's unique needs.

As a doctorally prepared nurse practitioner with dual board certifications in psychiatry, family practice, and primary care, Dr. Butella leverages this extensive clinical background to deliver highly comprehensive patient care.

Based in Tomball, Texas, Dr. Butella is an integrative psychiatric nurse practitioner dedicated to uncovering the root causes of mental health conditions. By combining genetic testing and detailed root-cause analysis, Dr. Butella addresses the mind, body, and spirit to optimize long-term health outcomes. This clinical approach combines advanced psychiatric medicine with evidence-based holistic therapies to support whole-person healing.

In addition to clinical practice, Dr. Butella spent five years as a nurse educator in the Master's and Doctoral programs at the University of Texas Health Science Center, shaping the next generation of psychiatric nurse practitioners. Dr. Butella also serves as a professional speaker for pharmaceutical companies, sharing insights, advancing dialogue within the mental health field, and offering guidance to fellow clinicians.

Care Philosophy

Dr. Hilary Butella believes that healing begins with listening. While symptoms provide important clinical information, they are only one part of each person's story. Her approach looks beyond a diagnosis to understand the biological, emotional, environmental, and lifestyle factors that may be contributing to a patient's mental health.

Rather than focusing solely on symptom relief, Dr. Butella develops individualized treatment plans that consider sleep, stress, nutrition, genetics, personal history, relationships, environment, and, when meaningful to the patient, spirituality. This whole-person perspective allows her to address the root causes of mental health concerns while supporting lasting wellness.

Patients can expect a thoughtful, unhurried partnership built on compassion, respect, and evidence-based care. Through comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, personalized medication management, and supportive psychotherapy, Dr. Butella strives to help individuals gain greater clarity, emotional stability, resilience, and renewed hope. Her goal is to empower each patient with the tools and support they need to experience meaningful, long-term healing.
